The museum is excited to announce that the Virginia Department of Historic Resources has approved a marker for the John J. Wright School. The marker recalls the history of the school, which served as the only public high school for local African American students beginning in 1913.

A public ceremony will be held to unveil the marker in October. Please check our Facebook page or website to stay up-to-date on museum programs and events.
